Naplan and Ball Game practice

This week we did our Naplan tests!  It was a big, hard week but we all survived.  Some  people thought  the tests were really hard, while others thought they were easy.  We had to be very quiet during the tests.  It wasn't easy to keep all of the rules we had to keep during the tests, like not talking, staying in our seats and putting up our hands if we needed any help.  Our teachers couldn't even help us very much, they were only allowed to read out instructions.

Some people felt really exhausted after the test were finished.  Before the tests, some of us were feeling very nervous, while others were really excited, while others just wanted to get it done.  Some of us had butterflies in our tummies!

When you were finished the test, it was a bit boring as we just had to sit and work quietly on something at our desks until the time was up.  A lot of the class are happy that we don't have to do any more Naplan tests until year 5!

Today we joined together with the other year 3's to learn how to play Leader Ball. This is one of the ball games we will play at our school sport's day.  In Leader Ball the leader needs to throw the ball to the first person in their team.  That person then runs down the left side and up the right side, making sure they run around the leader, and then go back to their place, throw the ball to the leader and very importantly, they have to duck down.  If they forget to duck down the ball might hit them!

Last week we also learnt how to play zig-zag.  Most of us like to play leader ball better than zig-zag.  One of the reasons is that it is hard to zig-zag around every body.  Another reason is that in Leader Ball we get to throw and catch the ball.  Some people like being able to run straight rather then zig-zagging.

Next week we will be learning our final ball game, which is called Captain ball.

Do you know how to play these ball games?

How would you feel if you had to do a Naplan test?

What would you rather do - play ball games or do a Naplan test?

  7. Dear 3Blue
I really loved naplan so I would choose it. I don't agree with Kaeden or Jamie because you could learn from it and it's fun.
